On August 30th (I started this the next day but have been having some computer issues), Nikki and I, along with a friend who is more like a sister, went to a concert at a small venue in Wyandotte, MI called District 142. It was my first time at this venue, and I will definitely be going back! We saw Tyler Braden, who I am OBSESSED with right now!!! Nikki and I bought these tickets back in May let me tell you, it was soo worth the wait.
I have actually seen Tyler live once already, when Hanna and I went to see Warren Zeiders. We had pit tickets to that concert, but they just had General Admission since the venue is so small. Before the concert, we went to a bar called Firehouse Pub a short walk to District 142. Nikki and I carpooled to the venue, listening to Tyler Braden the whole way. We debated what songs he would open and close with, and what our favorites of his are. We got dinner and a drink to pre-game. Nikki ordered the nachos and I got a BLT on sourdough with avocado. My sandwich was delicious, and Nikki’s nachos were good, too. When we got to the venue, we beelined for the bathroom, and then split up to get merch, drinks, and to save our spots on the concert floor. Someone named Clayton Mullen open for Tyler, and even though I’d never heard of him, he was pretty good.
When Tyler came out, he played Me or the Dawn, which I actually said would be a good song to open with in the car! It’s such an energetic song, and perfect to set the tone for the rest of the night. He does a really good job mixing in his slower songs with the more upbeat ones to keep the energy flowing. About two thirds of the way through the concert, he played God & Guns-n-Roses, and the crowd went wild. One of the last songs he sang was one called Right On Track. Its one that I have really resonated with since the first time I heard it a few months ago and I’m so glad he played it.
When the concert was over, we went to the restroom again, before we decided to go back to Firehouse Pub for some snacks, including some amazing mozzarella logs (yes, they were logs 😅), some not-so-great spinach and artichoke dip, and a big basket of french fries. We ate and got to visit with each other for a while before heading home, and it was a good end to a great night ❤️
If you ever find yourself in the area, I highly recommend District 142 for a concert venue! It’s a smaller venue, but it makes for easy parking, and that area is very easy and safe for walking if you want to check out the other restraints and bars in the area. If you love fun, energetic country concerts, I highly recommend checking out Tyler Braden! All 3 of us had so much fun, and I know it’s an experience I will cherish for a long time to come!
