Something that might be good to note is I am lucky enough to be able to read quite a bit at work. I got this book on my lunch break during a quick trip to Meijer after I finished the other book I was reading. Sometimes I enjoy reading mysteries to mix up my usual pool of comedy and romance. I hate to be a negative Nancy, but I did not like this book. “The Day After the Party” is about a woman who has a birthday party and loses her memory of the party and the day after the party, but her husband and her best friend will not tell her what happened. The first Issue I had was that it was written in third person, which I find to be confusing and obnoxious. The last book I had in third person was returned after just 20 pages because I just couldn’t do it. The redeeming quality of this book is that it was at least intriguing enough for me to finish. There are quite a few potential secrets that get hinted at in the beginning, such as a mystery pregnancy. While I really didn’t like the main characters, they had interesting qualities that were fun to watch (read) playing out. I will also say that the ending surprised me quite a bit, as well. If anyone else has read this book, I would love to hear what you think! I give this book a 2.5/5 stars.
